An unusual way to get publicity - writing about others!

I know by telling you to write about others, you may think I've lost my mind. But let me explain this process in a little more detail and you'll quickly understand why.

What is the hardest topic to write about that will make others want to listen? Usually it's ourselves, right? Let's face it, very few people are calling us daily, asking us to talk about ourselves relentlessly,
now are they? So, how do you "tell" others about yourself so they want to know more? The answer? By using your writing skills to write about others.

Here's what I mean - I find fascinating people around me all the time. And though others may not be clamoring to hear all about them, I know there is a great story to be told. All I have to do is uncover the facts and write about their passion. And, by doing so, I have found many wonderful things will come out of this. For instance, here's a quick list of positives:

  • You discover a marvelous story about someone you know.
  • This, in turn, builds a unique bond between the two of you.
  • You uncover your desire for "detective" work (which in itself can be very thrilling).
  • You get to realize your true writing abilities by pulling the
story together and then finding the right publication to print your story.
  • The person you're writing about gets publicity.
  • The person writing the story (you) gets publicity by listing your bio and contact information at the end.

And, if you do your homework, you may even find a publication that will PAY YOU for your article!

Now is this becoming a fun project or what? And, don't you just love when everyone involved turns out a winner?

But, how do you go about finding someone to write about? Look around - friends, church, sports events, the gym, networking meetings, people you work with - anywhere you come in touch with those you admire.

So, what's keeping you? Get started right away and all of a sudden the universe will be yours!
